Import From Page: Creating A New Account

When you are creating an account on a new website, you can add the new site and account to StrongPass using the Import From Page feature in the Authomate browser extension. After you enter the login and password fields on the website account creation page, click the Authomate icon and select the "Import From Page" option. When you select that and scan the QR code (or respond to the proximity message), it will request the login for your Authomate account and will import the credentials from the screen into your app using that account. After the import is complete (i.e scanning of QR Code or Proximity), the extension will copy the password from the first field to the confirmation password field and you can complete the account creation process on the website.

1. To demonstrate the creation of  a new account, let's use PayPal and navigate to the sign up page. Populate the user name and password fields of your new PayPal account. Click on the Authomate icon on the toolbar of the browser bar. When a page has a password field as well as a confirmation password field the Authomate Change Password extension icon is displayed on the browser toolbar. Click on the Authomate change password icon.

2. If your StrongPass app is unlocked, when the change password icon is clicked and you are using Proximity, the App will prompt you with an 'Unknown Account" message because the app thinks you are attempting a change password for an account that  does not exist in the StrongPass app. Click on "OK" to dismiss the the "Unknown Account" message.

3. Select the Import From Page option of the Authomate extension.

4. If you are using Proximity, the app will prompt you with a "Proximity Login" to identify the Authomate user account that is importing the new credentials. Click "Yes" to import the new PayPal account. If you are not using Proximity, press the “Scan Now” button on the app to scan the QR Code to import the new PayPal account. Both scenarios are illustrated below.

5. When the Proximity Login is acknowledged or QR code is scanned, the extension displays an "Import Complete" screen indicating the credentials have been successfully imported to your StrongPass app. In addition the extension will copy the password from the first field to the confirmation password field.

6. Lock your StrongPass app and log back into the app using your passcode/gesture. The PayPal credentials will be imported to your app and the app will display a status window.

Import From Page: Existing Account

1. To demonstrate how to import existing credentials for an account you already own, let's use DropBox. Navigate to the sign in page. Populate the user name and password fields of your DropBox account. Click on the Authomate icon on the toolbar of the browser bar. The browser extension will display a QR Code or a Proximity screen.

2. If your StrongPass app is unlocked, and you are using Proximity, and the site has not been saved in the StrongPass App yet, a phishing warning message will be displayed. Click on "Back To Safety" to dismiss the warning.

3. Select the Import From Page option of the Authomate extension.

4. If you are using Proximity, the app will prompt you with a "Proximity Login" to identify the Authomate user account that is importing the new credentials. Click "Yes" to import to the DropBox account. If you are not using Proximity, press the “Scan Now” button on the app to scan the QR Code to import the DropBox account. Both scenarios are illustrated below.

5. When the Proximity Login is acknowledged or QR code is scanned, the extension displays an "Import Complete" screen indicating the credentials have been successfully imported to your StrongPass app.

6. Lock your StrongPass app and log back into the app using your passcode/gesture. The import of the DropBox credentials into your app will commence and the app will display a status window.

Automatically Add a site from Phishing Dialog

1. Just open the URL/site you wish to save credentials for and click on Sign in button. Let's use amazon.com as an example.

2. Enter your Amazon login ID and hit the Continue button.

3. Once the Sign in page of Amazon is loaded in the browser, the Authomate icon will appear or become enabled on the toolbar. Click on the Authomate icon on the toolbar of the browser bar.

4. Open the StrongPass app on the phone by using your app passcode/gesture. If Proximity is enabled, the app will automatically detect that this is an unknown site.  If you are not using Proximity, press the “Scan Now” button on the app to scan the QR Code.

5. If this site has not been saved in the StrongPass App yet, a phishing warning message will be displayed.  Examine the site URL carefully. If you have any doubt that you are logging in to the correct website, tap the “Back to Safety” button.  If the website is correct, and you would like to add it to StrongPass, click on the “For more information” link. If this site is already saved in StrongPass, the phishing warning will not be displayed and the login authentication process will begin automatically as demonstrated  here.

6. The screen will provide more details regarding  Phishing. If you are absolutely certain this is not a Phishing site,  tap on "Proceed Anyway" to proceed to add the site.
7. The Extension will automatically populate the Login you entered in step 2, and you will be prompted to provide the password you use for that website. Click the "Next" button to add the site to the App's database.
